What's New

Hello everyone!

Every year on July 4th, my son Gregory and I spend some time reading the Declaration of Independence as a reminder of the principles our country was founded upon. We reflect on where we are now in contrast to in 1776, how far we've come and how far we are from the core values our government was founded upon. I feel that to truly celebrate our freedom, we need to be exercising our responsibilities to representative government by participating in the process. This year, I am exercising not only my responsibility but my legs and feet almost every night talking to people to find out their concerns an d hopes for our state government. What I hear is that people are tired of a system that they feel is damaged and want to see a more responsive, responsible government. They are surprised that I want to hear about their concerns and are hopeful that things can be changed in Springfield with a few more people who feel as I do.

In this spirit of celebration of freedom, come celebrate democracy with us this Friday! We are walking in the July 4th Parades in Arlington Heights and Wheeling, handing out candy and carrying signs. We will be surrounded by friendly faces and walking with others who are motivated to bring the change they want to see in their government.

The Wheeling parade will be followed by a concert and fireworks in the evening as well as Restaurant Row providing the food for the Freedom Fest. Arlington Heights Frontier Days starts their main events on the 4th at noon. Stay at either event to celebrate after the parade, or come walking door to door with me between the parades.

Parade line up details are:
Arlington Heights - Parade Slot 56 Dunton & Oakton 9:30am
Wheeling - Parade Slot 28 Lake Cook & Northgate 5:30pm

Please let Dave know if you are planning to attend so we can make sure we have enough signs and bags of candy for you. You can call him at 847-253-7321 or email at info@caroljavens.com. Wear comfortable shoes and bring a bottle of water.

Happy Independence Day to all! Carol

Welcome

Thank you for visiting the web site for my campaign to be our next State Representative from the 53rd Legislative District in Illinois, which encompasses parts of Arlington Heights, Buffalo Grove, Wheeling, Prospect Heights, and Mt Prospect.

During the coming months, I am continuing to visit groups and individuals, finding out what you want from your state representative. What I am hearing is you want less divisiveness, more transparency, and real solutions to the challenges in health care, education, and taxes that face our district. I look forward to continuing to listen to your concerns and ideas.

Please check back regularly for updates on what I am learning from all of you and to find out what is happening in the campaign.

Sincerely,

Carol Javens
